Andrea graduated from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in 1998, with a major in textiles.  Since 1998, Butler has held several solo shows and been involved with many group exhibitions. Her interests are rooted in combining surface treatment and woven cloth,as well as, exploring conceputal work. She continues to exercise her skills in weaving, dyeing and screen printing to produce unique pieces of textiles.
